RBC did us right. Our house had been leaking since we moved in. 8 winters later, enough was enough. We had other people come and try to solve the problem but not until Robert showed up was the problem actually fixed. Robert and his team gave fair estimates and correctly diagnosed our problem the first time. When he takes a look at a job he doesn't do it half assed. He says what he thinks and shot straight every time. I would highly recommend Robert Bernhard Coatings for painting, waterproofing, or any house exterior repair work. Even our deck's never looked better. (Two years after Robert painted our house he was doing our neighbors and, on his own initiative, looked over and offered to reseal our deck because he didn't like the way that it was looking at no cost to us!)

Robert and Company were incredible through every step of the process of prepping, repairing, and painting our home. I would highly recommend him. Very trustworthy. Gave honest assessments and options every step of the way, never forcing his opinion, but always offering his recommendations with a high level of backing behind it. his team was efficient, clean, honest (once, someone drank a beer we had left outside, and that person was never brought back (their decision, not mine)), and completed the job in a very reasonable amount of time.

Part of my job is property management. This year two of my clients needed there houses painted and so I put them out to bid. After meeting several painting contractors we selected RBC. Robert and his crew were very courteous and helpful with my clients. They are very professional and perform the work in a timely manner. Roberts attention to detail was excellent and both me and my clients were very happy with the job performed. Having worked with many contractors in the past, this is one I definitely would recommend.

My building's HOA (of which I am the president) invited Robert and several other painting companies to provide us with the bids to repaint the exterior of our building. We received a quick turn-around on the proposal request, a thorough inspection of the condition of the building exterior, and a competitive pricing proposal. We felt confident going with RBC - especially because Robert is extremely knowledgeable, was able to explain in great detail the issues with water intrusion that our building was facing, and how his team was going to fix those issues. He helped us pick pigments and coatings that will withstand the test time and hold up much better than the original paint job that was done on the building. When it came time to execute the paint job, the team was professional and showed as much attention to detail as Robert himself. Robert and his foreman came by frequently, were available in real time for resolving issues, and made a positive impact on a number of the owners in the building. Several of the owners had approached me since to let me know that they appreciated how the paint job work was being done and the results that it produced. We don't expect to have to repaint our building for another 15 years - but when we do, we will be calling on you, RBC!

THE best painter in the city! We own multiple buildings and manage others in SF, Marin and the greater Bay Area. Since discovering RBC we've always turned to them to paint our buildings and rarely even bother to get competing quotes. They are the BEST! Robert and his crew are true professionals and go above and beyond to make us happy... He knows his paints and colors and is in a position to consult with his customers on how best to address the job and color palette. We've used him on some of our investment properties and most recently on my personal home. He's got a great guarantee which he lives up to, as well for added piece of mind. The only drawback I can think of is that he is not cheap, but that being said he is worth the money! The paint on a building is the first line of defense against the San Francisco climate and not something you want to skimp on... If you value your buildings and plan on keeping them for the long run, then get your painting done by Robert! Nuff said...

Our house needed to be painted or waterproofed. I didn't know where to start so I used google and got up to speed on what might need to be done. I got estimates from 5 paint contractors including Robert. His estimate was the most comprehensive and was well priced. After speaking to him, I got the sense that he was most knowledgeable and went with him. He started work on the house within a couple days. Him and his crew are organized and methodical. They spent the first few days just prepping the house (pressure washing the house, patching stucco cracks, and masking). The rest of the time was spent conditioning the stucco, putting layers of elastomeric paint and top coats of acrylic. No shortcuts were taken and Robert was there every day supervising his crew and even doing work on the house himself ! The work went smoothly, step by step. His crew even worked on weekends (with our permission) and the house was fully painted within 10 days. Our house looks great and I have peace of mind knowing that it was painted properly and is fully waterproof. I look forward to this coming winter. If we need additional painting elsewhere, we will definitely give him a call. It has been raining quite a lot this winter. No worries from me, our house is completely waterproofed. Thanks Robert!

Robert was very professional and extremely knowlegeable about waterproofing. His men were very courteous , hardworking and did an excellent job.

Our house has been painted 4 times and this was the best job ever done. The most important task is prepping, not just painting. Robert and his crew paid detailed attention to the project with great ideas as needed. The prep was outstanding!!! They were professional, skilled, organized, and easy to have around. They are missed now that the project is completed. Robert was honest, very savvy with problem solving, and did everything promised and more. I would not hesitate to use him again and highly recommend him for a great paint job.

In praise of Robert Berhard Coatings! Recently I had the pleasure of working with Robert Berhard & his wonderful team of co-workers. Without a doubt, this is the most positive experience I've ever had with a painting crew. The workers were polite, skilled, and helpful at all times. Did I also tell you they were 'clean as a whistle'! Mr. Berhard was extremely insightful in steering us towards three color selections that might be appropriate, and then placing samples of each color/with trim on our building to test them out. His own special signature was the blue he chose to paint the front door......unique & wonderful. Our building is quite large, and Mr. Bernhard and crew were able to finish up within 5 weeks. The 'detailing' work was particularly impressive. Robert Bernhard is also just a jewel of a person to work with!!!!! For these reasons I wanted to submit this FIVE (5) STAR review of his work.

WOW! Robert and his crew put life back into our tired old house. They were on time, conscientious, detail oriented and professional. They came in really close to where we wanted them too on the money end too. We got multiple bids from many fine painting companies and, in hind site, are REALLY happy we went with Robert. He was always available, honest and had great follow through. I also can't say enough positive things about his crew. True professionals.

Robert Bernhard was on time for appointments, on estimate for invoices and the painting was done on time and very professionally. We have 5 rooms and halls painted. We are very pleased...I would definitely recommend them to my friends and associates.

Robert was able to gracefully deal with three different condo owners while painting a hallway and front entryway. His crew was impeccable, and the job was done on time. The hallway looks great and we would all use him for future projects.

Getting your house painted is a pain in the ass, and we made the pain last as long as possible by getting four quotes from different painters. Robert's attention and attention to detail stood out. We ended up narrowing our search down to two painters (Robert and another independent guy), and Robert came out to look at our building a few times before presenting his final quote. The other guy just did a drive-by. Just to be clear about it: we had some water damage that he wanted to look at closely before preparing the quote - you shouldn't necessarily expect him to come out multiple times unless you have a special situation. When it came time to sign the contract and start the project, Robert started on the following week. He's always made himself available to meet with me when it's convenient for me, and he keeps me up to date on progress by phone. He just called to ask if his guys could work on the weekend. Uh, sure. Anyway, I recommend this guy highly, and will use him again as soon as we need more painting.

Robert and his painters did an excellent job. They were very detailed oriented, and made my house look fantastic. They were very good at respecting the landscape and cleanng the site every day. Robert was also very good advice on the quality of paint to choose. He also pointed out spot with dry rot and explaining what needed to be done. I will definitively consider him for my future painting jobs.
